  1. every body on the bus pays the mexican inspectors $10. dollars each, and nobody get search not the bus or luggage

  2. I haven't taken the greyhound line, but I did take TUFESA (which is a Mexican line, actually much nicer and cheaper than greyhound) from Phoenix to Hermosillo once.  The bus was clean and modern, and practically empty (it left Phoenix around midnight, which is probably why).  When we crossed the border at Nogales, the bus pulled over, everyone got out, and did the traffic light procedure.  If you aren't familiar with Mexican immigration, this is where you walk by a traffic light and push a button.  If you get green, you get back on the bus with your luggage.  If you get red, they do a basic search of your bag.  Thats it, it wasn't any big deal at all.  Maybe 2 or 3 people (out of 25) got searched, and the whole procedure took about 20 min to half an hour.
