I have been offered a 457 Visa to teach in a school in WA. This is on condition that it is outside of the Perth Metropolitan Zone. Has anyone done this before? If so, what is it like?

  1. I'm not a teacher nor have I ever lived outside the Perth metro area but I would say what it would be like would be very much depending on where you were sent.

I don't think they'd have too much trouble finding Australian teachers for the nicer rural communities like in the south west or even most of the wheat belt so I'm guessing they want people from overseas to teach in the middle of nowhere.

Can they give you a list of towns where they might be likely to send you so that you can research what they are like before you decide?  Because if they send you somewhere like Fitzroy Crossing you may be sorry that you ever left England.
