There was a Charismatic woman at church years ago and for years she would go around telling people they had demons. Is this witchcraft or what ???? If this happened to you...what did you do or say in response?(I know this should probably go under R&S but I don't want to go there.)

  1. i am an orthodox christian - although a very bad one.

i used to be told that i didn't believe in god because i refused to accept the idea of 'demons'.

however, as of lately, i tend to believe they are as real as anything.

still not into the red skin little horns forked tail thing, but real, nevertheless.

i suspect them for all 'foreseen'/precognition things, hence my advice to anyone not to go to 'psychics' slash fortunetellers.

low-level spirits who are experts into trickery - nothing more.

but they can attach to peoples' minds/souls alright.

thing is you can get rid of them by yourself so, to answer your question, that lady may have lacked tact, but she may also have been up to something.

  2. First of all, i dont think you would win anything if you sued her for defamation of character unless somehow you lost work, or your job or business was affected by her accusations.

Second, why are you listening to the ravings of a loony old lady anyway?

Its not witchcraft, although she may have been involved at one point with a church which teaches spiritual warfare and stuff. There are some churches that would not view her as a loony old lady, they would view her as a prophet or something.

  3. It's not witchcraft. There's only one Spirit world and we all share it. People accused Jesus of being in cahoots with the Devil because he cast out real Demons. Some people are seers and see the spritworld intertwined with ours as clearly as you see cars and trees.

Lol, you were right not to go on R&S. I would have a thousand thumbs down already and you'd have got hundreds of inappropriate New Testament quotes by now

I guess I need to clear something up here and now:

When people like that woman refer to demons they are usually personal "demons" and she probably sees her peronal demons in others because it's easier than looking in to her own past and her own tortured soul.

Just because somebody goes to church and calls themself a Christian, it doesn't mean they are. There are as many Satanists declaring themselves "saved" and "annointed" and as being Christians as there are real Christians. Their actions speak louder than words - if their actions are to incite hatred or support abuse, they have chosen a path of evil.....no matter what they say. The Vatican is rife with power mongers who are more intent on maintaining Rome' power than guiding people to God through Christ.

Most of us carry around a burden of our past which can become the everyday present if we let it. You can call it a demon or luggage, the choice is yours. It's a burden that can weigh us down and everybody should learn to let it go rather than festering on their bad experiences. They are the ghosts and echoes of our past. It's a trendy thing for pastors to dramatically exorcise these "demons". It's not exorcism though.

Real Demons are Fallen Angels, they were cast out of God's sight for their vanity. Many had taken human form and had  wives and children. They taught mankind to not accept themselves. They taught many things including magic, writing, Astrology, Herbology, seduction, Metalurgy, the use of cosmetics, weapon making and martial arts. It's not that these things are all evil, it's just that they were meant to be discovered in the natural scheme when we were ready to discover them. They threw mankind's development totally off balance and commited one of the worst blasphemies by taking God's true name in their pact. The Angel which gave them the name was Michael and he is now refered to as the long suffering one because he carries the burden of allowing something to happen which caused Angels to be cast out.

Once Demons enter your life, your stuck with them. I think the lucky ones of us get this from early on in life which makes it easier to learn to live with. But you are plagued by fear of what lurks in the shadows.

I'm 38 now and I know no different. For me the spirit world exists in my life every day. Sometimes Demons plague me by keeping me awake for days on end but most of the time they are helpful and are much nicer than many humans...but there is a terrible sadness about them. I've never discussed any of this with family but they've obviously been very aware and concerned with any interest I showed in Demons etc.

Yes, people have told me but more out of fascination than dramatic-we-must-get-you-exorcised judgement. Some people have also commented that they think I might not be human which is quite a disturbing thing to deal with. Other have commented that I'look like an Angel or the Devil.....it get's a bit tiresome. It's not the sort of thing you can just brush aside.

The only reason I'm telling you now is because I'm almost totally anonymous on here.

How do you feel about your experiences with this woman now?

If you still have your personal ghosts, I guess it's time to let them go now.

And to clear something else up: Evil people can walk in to churches, say they are Christian, touch crosses and drink/touch holy water etc. etc.

The same is true of Demons. That Hollywood myth that Fallen Angels won't go in to churches is just film mythology. Many go in to churches and many also pray to God and still ask for forgiveness.

And those people telling you different should not be as they have no knowledge of these things. It is only the goodness in your heart that protects you from Demons - they have no need to punnish you.

The most important thing to remember is that the only place you can fight evil is inside yourself.

  4. A charismatic running around telling people they have demons? I"m not sure why you would call that witchcraft. It's just a person totally into their fanatical religion. I went to a church like that for a while in my youth. Nuts like the lady you mentioned were really annoying.

  5. I had an interesting fellow come at me with a bible asking if I believed in God, I told him I did - after a brief bit of back and forth with this quack of a minister he was trying to convince me that I didn't believe in God - that I really worshiped the devil and demons unless I came to his church... I told him he was trying to brainwash the wrong fool.

  6. I think what she considers "demons" should be taken in account. There are those who think spirits/ghosts are evil demons and if you talk to them then YOU'RE evil (or nuts), you know? And a long time ago, anybody who did anything that was considered different from "normal" was considered to be a witch or possessed or something else completely. She could just be one of those left wing nut jobs whose positive that if you're different then you MUST be possessed.

EDIT: No, someone who has a strong faith in God and uses holy water all the time wouldn't have demons inside them. A friend told me once, "where God dwells, evil cannot" and she's right. I've had experience with a demon in my home, but he couldn't touch me, only make me afraid. Now? Now I have a much stronger faith in God. Evil cannot dwell in my home, there's simply too much "light" here, and with my guardians, it won't even dare try.

  7. Chances are, she was incorrect and you (along with the many other people she said it about) don't have demons in you.

No, it's not witchcraft- but it's equally not of God if she's saying it to people who don't have demons.

Yes, talking to the church elders/leaders would probably have been appropriate- especially if other people were uneasy about it also.

Personally, i believe in demons (and angels, and God, and satan) _- I'm a Christian.

However, i definatly don't believe everyone has demons in them! Although, some people may - especially if they've been involved in witchcraft/occult/freemasonary before.

I have never been told that i have a demon in me, and i don't believe i do either. However, i have seen it in others so i believe it happens. (I have seen others freed of them).

As for why she would say that, if incorrect...  I am not to judge.

  8. I don't believe anything unless seen by myself and since till now I have failed to see any such stories hold on so I guess this woman too is one of those religious hypocrites or psychic delusionals.

Being a Science student myself I tend to explore such things. I once met this tantrik in North India who tried to convince me that these demons do exist etc etc. However he agreed 99% ppl that come to him for treatment or advice have it all in their head and all he does is act weird to make them let out their oppressed feelings. Guess what.... I'm not too sure about the other 1% either.

  9. To answer your question, no one has ever told me that I have demons. Telling people that they have demons is usually an attempt to take advantage of the suggestibility of the human mind for whatever motive (usually not a noble one).

Denie, I have never read a question or answer from you that makes me think you have demons. Actually you come across as sort of sweet and sensitive. You would be more likely to have angels!

Thank You, Denie. You make YA a nicer place!

  10. I think I would let my demons kick her butt. Literally. And then I would tell the police that the woman got butt kicked by the demons she called. And then I would get a high priced lawyer to extract damages from her for waking my demons.

Seriously, if you believe this c**p, even enough of it that you have to ask, you earned it to be taken to the cleaners by these people.

    :-)
