I met a girl online and she lives in another country, I want to bring her to the uk to see if we can have a real relationship. Has anyone ever done that, concerning imigration issues ? I am sending her an invitation letter stating that I will support her while she is here. Would we have problems with imigration when she arrives here?

  1. you can, depending on what country shz from, invitation letter would be lovely, she might need a visa too.. just ask her to ask her embassy if shll need a visa,..

  2. It is impossible to say with any authority unless you state the country your girl is coming from.

  3. I met up with a guy from Australia whom I met over the net but once we were in each others company well its was never going to turn into anything even friendship.

  4. a lot depends on the country she is from...anyway, a letter would never suffice...regardless of if she required a visa or not.

They require evidence of your income, but they would ony accept that if she was coming to attend her own wedding ceremony to if she was already married to you.

She would be refused if she was coming to live - regardless of if you could or would support her or not. they are simply interested in how likely she is to return to her own country.  sorry

  5. It will cost you a lot of money - she will only get a holiday visa unless you are planning to marry her and if so you need about £350 going into your bank account each week to prove you can support her, she has got to speak good english and you must marry within a few months, she will undergo a medical and if any problems she must get them sorted, she will not get free NHS or dentist and will have to find a job within 6 months and will pay emergency tax for 2 years. Is it worth it?

  6. She can come as a tourist to the UK for 6 months but during that time will not be able to work or study. Make sure she buys a return ticket as there will definitely be problems otherwise. You need to make it really clear in your letter that she will be returning to her country of residency within this 6 month period or she may well have problems at immigration. Make sure you have proof you can support her for that length of time or they may also not believe that she will not try to work whilst she's here.
