  1. I havent used it, but I work for a travel agency, so if you need something let me know my email; is southamerica_travel_expert@yahoo.com.

  2. i haven't used Sun Gate however we did recently walk the trail with SAS, which is one of the biggest agencies. I think they were one of the most expensive, however the service made up for it. The food was great and every little thing catered for. Coca tea and warm water delivered to your tent every morning to wash with, a large tent set up to eat in for every meal etc etc etc. i dont think i can go back to normal camping now.

More importantly SAS treat their porters much better than some of the cheaper companies, all of our porters were actually wearing shoes, were paid a fair wage and the tip we paid at the end actually went to them. This is not the case we many of the companies.

From my experience of Cusco, it is Gringo central with alot of people trying to rip you off, never do business with anyone unless it is in an actual office and find out if the people selling you the tour will actually be running it. Many agencies sell places on other peoples tours and then you have no idea if you will receive what you have paid for.

Also be careful of your possessions on the trail, there are a lot of thefts especially from the poaches of tents at night.

having said all of that, it is a fantastic experience so good luck. you may need it on dead womens pass
