If so any tips on what to do, where to buy them from, and if they even work?

  1. We use a lot of baking soda when we clean sinks, tubs and counter tops. The stuff cleans up nicely, it's not abrasive and it safe and cheap.

  2. Chlorine works well ,but if it is algae that is your problem try and find Barley straw. It kills algae and is not harmful to fish etc. U can also get Barley straw extract.

  3. Last time I checked, all of those organic and natural sanitizers were made from chemicals as well.  In fact, if you look closely, you yourself are made up of 100% chemicals, mostly carbon and hydrogen.

  4. Be careful by what you mean by sanitising.  It's different than 'clean'.  Sanitising means making the water relatively safe to be used as intended.  Chemicals like chlorine and bromine kill harmful bacteria and do break down some of the organic residues in the water (but not much).  UV lights and ozone are chemical-free means of sanitising your water.  There is also some new ideas using silver ions (you'll have to search for more info).  These products will make the water safer for you to use as intended.

It might not be nice to think about but you are soaking in a tub of warm water that is contaminated with f***s, skin cell, body oils, and urine.  And the gross part...not just yours but whoever has been in there before you.

Some products can help keep the spa water looking good but don't confuse that with making the water safe.   There is no subsitute for using some type of sanitising operation.  Or drain, wash, and refill with each use.

  5. i used oatmeal once (its acutally not bad!)

i dont know what kind of stores you have around but i get stuff like that at bath and body works...and if you cant find it you could just ask them for help! :)))
