Has anyone ever used roomates.com to find a roomate?

I want to leave town. But I want to know if anyone has ever used roomate.com. And If it worked did they find a decent roomate? Is it a good safe system.

I use craigslist. Especially Casual Encounters.

I tried it a long time ago, and it did me no good. Everyone that contacted me either wanted to bring animals, which I specifically said no pets on my ad, or would never answer me back. And then, after I had been living there a year and took my ad off, somehow it reappeared and I had emails about people wanting to rent from me again. It was weird and some of the people looked very untrustworthy. I would be very careful if you use it. And I would check with your local police dept. about how to run a background check on someone you are wanting to rent to. Good luck!

I've been listed with Roommates.com now since MAY and STILL have not found a roommate for either of my two rooms here in Central Florida ......

I've had a couple of responses from Craigslist ; BUT they were FELONS just out of prison ...... and one guy was fresh from drug rehab ....

The best way that I've ever gotten a roommate for one of my rooms is to run a newspaper ad in the local paper .....
