If so, how was your experience there? Are the huts still in place? or have they been destroyed?

  1. There is nothing there. It has been overgrown for MANY years.

After the fed gov took all the "evidence" they needed, it was used a sort of work camp. When that was abandoned, the local Amerindians came in and took down what was left.

There are pieces of scrap metal here and there, and a tractor in the shrubbery.........

There are no buildings, paths, signs, etc. You would never know it had been a community.....

The road into the area from Port Kaituma may still be visible, but is likely also overgrown.

All there is to see in the natural wildlife and flora.

Every now and then, a film crew will go in there to do a story, but the pics are always the same.

A couple years back, there was an idea floating around that a memorial be built there......along with a few replica buildings, but the idea is nothing more than a pipe dream. "Jtown" is not on the way to anyplace and is not on any route coming back from anywhere..........it is way out of the way........no one would go....................
