  2. According to Wikipedia the Great Wall of China is over 6,700 km (4,160 miles) in total in length. Although many sections are have been destroyed, vandalised, or simplied crumbled from age, erosion, etc. Many parts of the Wall that are near to tourist areas have been restored. There is not a known conclusive report of how much of the wall is intact.

    I know someone who was on the Wall and talked to someone who was hikeing that stretch. They mention that many parts were missing so you have to walk where no Wall now exists/ along the rubble.

    *******This link has some great information from some guys who have done it. It took them 109 days. (It looks like you have to apply with the government for permits.) It also said that as of 1997 (before this group of three) only one man (a Chinese) walked the entire Wall years before. They finished their trip in September 2000. Check it out below.
