My cousin is going to become artificially insiminated with my egg and my husbands sperm, can she file the costs of doctors visits and the birth on her medicaid and i reimburse her any costs she's out or is there special insurance out there for the medical costs of a surrogate mother. Also we plan on paying for the insimination using cash, no rude comments please i haven't consulted my attorney yet i was just curious.

  1. okay I thought about this.  Just let her become pregnant accidently with your husbands sperm!! Then let her go on medicad.  She is to say she does not know who the father is at all.  Then when the baby is due she can give it up for adoption to you and your husband. You now  have a little one.  Pay her what ever you decide on together.  The only thing else you will end up paying is about 1500.00 in adoption fees.  Don't worry about the system because she Can't afford to take care of the baby on her own and thats usually what they ask to make sure the mother is taking care of herself.  The system pays for so many people on welfare to have child after child that it would be nice to see someone who can't have a child the state pay for too.  Just an idea!!~

  2. I don't think medicaid would cover any of this; medicaid is public medical assistance for needy families who cannot afford medical insurance on their own for medical conditions and this wouldn't really fall under any of their guidelines...she could check, but I don't think Social Services covers artificial insemination expenses; I don't even think most private insurance companies would (and if they did it would be VERY expensive), I think that's one of the out-of-pocket expenses for the parents.
