Has anyone ever worked in the gift shops on cruise ships?

I did for 13 years on many cruises out of the U.S and in the pacific. I had a great time seeing the world. What ships were you on and what did you like best and worst about it?

I worked on the QE2 years ago as a leading steward (one of the few straight ones!) and I'm afraid that the female crew could be categorised thus: Shopgirls - gold diggers\officer' bunk warmers.

Croupiers- Ditto. Bedroom Stewardesses - Rugmunchers! Sorry to offend but shop girls on the QE2 were so far up their own backsides that they could l**k their own tonsils from the back!

No I've never done that.  I heard that all the people who worked on the cruise ships had to also work in the shows.  Did you do that too?

Hey...I admit, i'm a loser, what have I to be proud of? I'm a pathetic, depressing excuse for a person. Hate me, kill me..

but at least I haven't spent 13 long years of my proud american life working in a pathetic gift shop on a bloody cruise ship.
