it depends on the places that you go to, most dont check id's but some do for younger looking crowds and some actually keep your id until you pay before you lieave it works like this you bring your id and then they give you a credit club card and dats what you use for drinks when you leave you pay the balance on your card and then you get you id back other clubs just check to see if it really you but its not like in da states where u need it you will be fine without one but its good to have PS IM IN GERMANY NOW AND SOME PLACES ACTUALLY KEEP YOUR CARD and some just CHECK your card but just in cases BRING your drivers license also instead of your passport its less FLASHY and if you lose that its easier to get than a whole new PASSPORT

Hi, I'm from Germany.

There is actually no ID check, except when you look like you're below 18. 18 is the legal drinking age in Germany. They don't keep your ID card, that's b***s***. But the doorkeepers won't let you in when you seem to be drunk or they decide that you don't fit into the crowd that populates the disco or club. In a bigger city, that's no problem. Just choose another location.

u can go into diskos until 12pm with age of 16

at age of 18 u can stay until it closes

the doormen ask young looking people for ID

All the times I have gone they pretty much are just checking the 16 years old from the adults for they have to leave earlier plus if you are a University student you can often get discounts getting in too by showing your ID. I was able to with an American University ID before years ago when I was in school still.

They stay open real late like in NYC and though you can go any time it does not get real packed until pretty late.

As mentioned above be careful it is true there will be 16+ in there up to midnight so careful with that!!

Take your ID...they don't let people under 18 in after midnight and the Polezei will come around and check people already in the club.  I have never been checked, but I also don't look 18 anymore? Also, some  clubs have dress codes, but the dress code is really for the guys.  The clubs are much more strict about letting guys in than girls.
