Has anyone every heard of a county code of practice regarding special educational needs?

Hi

Im doing a degree in special needs and during the course i have heard many people talk about the county code practice as a task we have been asked to try and find out what this is and where we can find out about it? However if i type it in google / yahoo / ask all i get is info on the special educational needs code of practice not a county specific one! so has any one out there ever heard of this or know where i can find out about it?

  1. Every education authority in the country varies slightly. They should all adhere to government guidelines over all but best practise is different where ever you live in the country.


  2. Try your local government website..(name)county council.

  3. Each county has to adhere to the Code of Practise that is defined by the Government, there is no County wide deviation to this, they all have to play by the rules.  If you contact the DfeS they will send you the book with the Code of Practise.

  4. Get on a local area school district website there may be a link there to that. I have a special needs child this was helpful where I live. Hope this helps

  5. If you live where you have county schools you are talking about district policy. Everyone has a little bit different policy, on how they plan on handling things. The one thing that always stays the same is state and federal guidelines. Thus county code must follow these guidelines. If I were in a different state, the question would still be answered the same.
