  1. What precisely are you looking to learn about? I grew up in rural Russia, a small town in the central region, bordering northern Ukraine. Living there is pretty much like living in rural U.S. - you life is "home-school-home", or "home-work-home", and there is not much of a "night life" there. There is no glamour and lavishness like there is in Moscow, but you can still find "mansions" of the newly rich people even in the rural areas.

There is a different outlook on private life as well - most people marry early, few years after high school, have kids young, and consider it a sucess if they were able to move from the natal village/town to a regional center.

But provincial Russia is beautiful in its simplicity. The landscapes are amazing, the people are warm and the life is slow-paced.

  2. jsut go to Moscow and the villages for a few days, russians are nice people and will welcome you into their home without a problem, but just go to moscow, they only thing thats different is the bloody food mate, but everything is  the same as living in america, well not all the same, but youll see once you get there, and if you see a skinhead that wants to fight just throw a snow ball at him and say f*****k off you bloody b*****d, and youll be fiiiine
