Engine has been lagging really bad from 4800K to 6K RPM and today it just cut-out and left me cold in my tracks for about 15min....finally started her up and drove her back home. Had to keep her under 5K RPM or she would hesitate and cut-out. I have 2K miles on here with no Mods. Called Dealership and taking her in tomorrow for diagnostics check. Does anyone have any ideas? I have warranty, but if it's not covered, than i'm screwed. $89/hr..sucks. Let me know. Thanks.

  1. Like Joe B said, a lot of manufacturers have been modifying the US-bound bikes with heavier catalyzers and more emssion-based parts to meet our emissions standards. Our bikes are actually slower than UK bikes, etc.

  2. that problem won't be covered under the Suzuki 1 year warranty, and not covered under the extended warranty

tests, and adjustments are NOT covered.

the problem is the fuel injection mapping, in order to lower emissions the fuel is leaned out too much, Yamaha had the same problem last year on the R1, and the FZ1, Triumph, and KTM has the same problem with no fix.

  3. There is a fix. You can add a power commander to the bike. They can set up a nice map to eliminate the flat spot. It sucks that you have to take care of this yourself, but most bikes have a problem like this in some rpm range.
