Has anyone filed for bankruptcy Since Jan. 2008 ?

What did they let you file on ? How did it affect you? I cant even pay the min on my c. cards. There is nothing more I can do. Help.

I filed Chapter 7 in april 2008 and it just resently discharged. I do have to say that my credit score jumped up by 47 points after all the non payment accts on my credit report were changed to "under bankruptcy" Its slow and steading trying to rebuild my credit, after 8 thousand owed to Bank of America along. My credit was a mess. I'm in the process of getting a secured credit card thur my bank and I'm rebuilding. My attorney basically told me in our first meeting that filing Chapter 13 was a waste of time. Cause you are paying a boat load of money into this chapter 13 but its still listed as bankruptcy on your report. It looks the same. Unless you have a home or cars that u wont to reafirm then (in my option) chapter 7 is the best route. Its called the "starting over" bankruptcy for a reason. Its more expensive up front. But when your paying out all this money over time its just not worth it. Bankruptcy isn't for every one..You could try credit consul. but thats up to you.
