Question:

Has anyone fit 3 carseats across in a Honda CRV?

I'm just curious - I just bought a new 2008 Honda CRV this year. We only have one baby as of now, but we're planning on having 3 kids. I'd love to keep this as our family car for as long as possible instead of getting a minivan. Do you think it would be possible to fit 3 across? I've heard that the Radian is the skinniest carseat & might work with 2 of those & 1 infant carseat. Any thoughts? Thanks!

  1. I have never tried it, but I think it would work. The Radian is one of the most narrow seats out there, so that is what I would get. It might be tight, but if you put the two Radians next to each other with the infant seat on one side, I think it would be fine.

  2. My parents have a 08 CRV and my 3 year old is in the Radian 65, which I love.  I think it would work fine, even if it's a squeeze.  If it really is an issue you could use three of the radian they capable of rear facing use, you just have to get the baby out of the seat like in the "old days".  Hondas are fabulous and last forever I think it's well worth making it work.  You should have a couple years of getting the hang of arranging seats you'll be a pro for baby 3.

P.S. getting the baby in and out of a regular seat instead of a removable infant seat isn't as bad as it sounds and they learn to sleep right through it.  I've never had an infant seat just a convertable rear to front one.

  3. I have a 2006 CRV and I couldn't fit a carseat in the middle even by itself because the two sides of the seatbelt are too close together and there are no center LATCH attachments. The 2008s are different though obviously, so you may want to check that out.

  4. well since you already have one carseat and if you have a extra carseat put it in there and then get a third carseat from a friend or borrow it for a few minutes and check it out and see how much room you need or want
