  1. You have got me thinking....

But where would I go to get given eveything I need?

Oh - Yeah the UK - **** gotta smuggle myself out then back in again LOL

  2. Philby, Burgess, and McLean claimed asylum in USSR.

  3. Yeah.....me. (Soon.)

  4. some communists did in Russia during the cold war.

  5. ronnie biggs

  6. Just after the Lockerbie air disaster, a guy from Scotland did just that here in Canada.  He claimed that it was too dangerous to live in the UK with planes exploding and raining down debris!  Even the Canadian authorities didn't swallow that one.

  7. Has anyone escaped from Alcatraz?  Remember, Britian is an island which has its borders sealed.  A passport is still required to leave Britain.  To claim political asylum one must actually leave the country in question (or visit a foreign Embassy in the UK)

I suspect it has been done before, but you would need evidence of persecution.  Quite often there is little concrete evidence available, and so political asylum would likely turn into lunatic asylum.

The difference between real persecution and a persecution complex is a matter of interpretation. Clearly you would have to go to an embassy which shared your viewpoint on the government.  Perhaps one of the embassies which have been excluded from the UK due to diplomatic breakdown.

You might get a sympathetic hearing at one of the embassies which no longer exist in the UK!

What you should ask is has anyone in the UK committed mass murder?  If the answer is yes, then what were they protesting about?

  8. in russia some uk persons applied

  9. It won't be long before they do.

  10. On the grounds that they are a 'Tory' fleeing persecution from left wing fascists. I think that you would get away with that.

  11. It's already happened on any number of occasions in the past here in the US. Did they ever get it is quite another matter. People can apply from any country. I've even seen several from Sweden in the past.
