  1. Most people do just that. All they do is think about it. and ***** about it. We need to find a way to stop using it.

most people are not mad enough yet. They bite the bullet and grit their teeth and fill their gas tanks. It's still easier than finding a way to do without it.

Opec has total control over the price off gas. Gas price's are based on supply and demand. If Opec cut the supply enough to send gas price's to $10 or $12 a gallon or more it would shut this country down.

We ( you and me) have to find a way to stop using it!

  2. How can we not! it is causing a huge ripple affect and may be driving a depression. if this happens it will be world wide. the U.S. dollar leads the world as in what happens here economically is followed by most other nations and lingers there longer. I recomend we all park a vehicle at least a day or longer if you can afford to. My wife and i have parked our f150 for 3 weeks so far and are using only my Honda fit  its tough sharing one car but its needed both because the prices forced it and because enough is enough.

  3. It's typical, apparently they've all gone up, so we're all in on it!

I'm sorry to say, but that's the price of living isn't it! and all of the money grabbing sod's are at it!! Make me sick!

  4. Of course we have.  The rising cost of fuel will have a huge effect on the price of all consumer goods and the buying habits of everyone.  Since I started commuting with my motorcycle in March I have saved about $50 in gas costs.  I have reduced my driving to a bare minimum (easier without children).  I have used my bicycle to pickup groceries.  My van has not left the garage in two weeks.  Rode home in the rain a couple of times.

I purchase my gas at the least expensive stations.  That is the only real power I have besides conservation.  I vote with my dollars and reward the lowest price stations.

Luckily for me, work is going well.  So I am saving like crazy.  Because I believe the economy will get worse, way worse.  The Federal and State Governments will face falling tax revenue due to people spending less money.  In my mind, I am hunkering down for a long rough ride.

BTW, a co-worker rides to work on a Honda Helix.  Gets around 70 mpg.  Buys about 2 gallons of gas a week.  Something to think about.

  5. I am a complete weirdo (in my opinion anyway), cos I've been keeping my eyes on petrol since july 2007 and I keep a record of them every three months. The cheapest that I remember unleaded has been is £0.82. and diesel £0.83. Over that past months unleaded has risen upto £1.12 and diesel £1.21. The government plans are to by the end of this year get petrol prices to be around £1.50. (The green plan.) I don't exactly see how it's gonna work though cos like there are certain places that are just to faraway to work or cycle to. We'll be poor soon, cos almost everthing's prices are rising.
