Has anyone gone through the National Board Certification for teachers process? Any advice?

I am just getting started with the process.

I am currently going through the process.  I am an elementary teacher with a master's degree.  I am going to be certified in literacy.  I have joined several Yahoo groups on national board and have received a lot of great advice already. Good luck!

I wouldn't bother. You would be better off getting an advanced degree in your subject rather than spending the time trying to jump through their hoops.

Of course if you are an elementary school teacher, it might be worth it if your school board will give you a pay raise for completing it.

If you are a high school teacher, a master's degree in your field is much more impressive and useful.
