What city did you go to? Anything fun to do there? Are there any specific requirements you need before entering these countries? Has anyone gone there who didn't know anyone there nor speak the language? Was that difficult?

  1. Yes, it was wonderful!  I started in Copenhagen, Denmark, drove all through Denmark, ferry to Oslo, drove across Sweden to Stockholm, then drove south back to Copenhagen.  It is expensive.  You need a passport, shots up to date, etc...English is a required language to learn for the Swedes beginning in about 3rd grade, so most everyone is bilingual. My mother however, was fluent in Swedish, and I in German (which was also understood) so we had no problems.  You could spend the entire time in Stockholm, there is much to do there.  We went in the summer, so experienced the long days of "no real night".  Brush up on etiquette, there are some differences...no picking up of food in your hand (cut even sandwiches); strong dark coffee (which I had been brought up on); lots of pickled everything... There are castles to visit, old inns to stay in, lots of beautiful countryside.  Enjoy!
