  1. I'm going aus in august on a full immigration skilled working visa and yes you will need to come back.

You don't say what trade your in, I'm a panel beater and its taken me over a year to get everything sorted,

First of all I had to apply for my TRA to see if I can work in aus in my trade and for that to come back successful I had to send off my qualifications, very detailed references of my employers, pay slips etc.

Then I applied for my visa, I also went with a firm that helped with my visa to make sure everything was correct. while waiting for my visa I had to go to for a medical.

Also if you are immigrating under a trade you do have to be working in that trade. but once you are in I don't think you have to stay doing your trade, unless you have been sponsored then you have to stay with that firm for two years.

Its cost me the best part of three grand to get everything.

I understand why you want to stay I have just come back after three weeks there, great weather great people great country can't wait until august.

  2. this visa can take years to come through so your holiday visa will have well and truly run out so you will need to go home and apply from there.

you must get 120 points in the points test and be skilled in a job Australia needs, you also have to have been working in that field for at least 2 years before you apply

  3. My understanding is that you have to leave Australia to apply, but you could go to New Zealand and then apply from there.  The Australian High Commission in Wellington is friendly, unlike many other Australian outposts.  I am not 100% sure of this, so you talk with an immigration agent about it.  Australia's Migration Department used to keep non-whites out until about 1972 or so, the culture of the Department is bad and it got much worse during John Howard's last 11 years and accordingly, it is an adversarial organization.  If you talk to them, they will probably look for a way to stop you.
