They look nice, but the cushions look a bit thin.

  1. I spent three hours at Ikea yesterday. I do not have a couch, and I don't think I would buy one from there yet. I want a better quality that wil last. But I am looking for a main piece.

I think the Ektorp was the best one, and what's cool is the COVERS. That idea i love.

Once I have a nice one, I will probably go back for it as a second piece.

  2. I've had one for about 18 months, the cushions have got thinner over the last few months, but we do use it a lot and people are always lying down on it rather than sitting.

It's comfy enough and if you take the back cusions off it makes a comfy bed if people come to stay (provided they are short!)

If I had the money I would go for a more expensive one which I would hope would be more durable, but for the money i'd say it's good value

  3. Comfort means different things to different people, what is comfortable to one person, might not be to another. Your best bet would be to go to Ikea and sit on one, sit as you would at home, for instant when lounging, not sitting up straight and see if you find it comfortable.

  4. Next to one's bed, the sofa and chairs where one spends a lot of time is the most important piece of furniture in one's home, or workplace so it's worth the investment to try to get something sturdy and large and padded enough to prevent back and leg problems and can take the wear and tear of family and guests and try to find something in a form that not only supports your back and seating comfort but is also easy to recover in a new fabric should you tire of it's color or pattern then you can just easily change the look of it later should it get torn or just boring.

Never choose such important things you intend to live with a long time in your home on the basis of how pleasing to the eye it is or how well it matches with the rest of your furniture because as beautiful and affordable it may be right now, in the end you just may save yourself alot of money and headache and worry wondering where those mysterious back and leg pains are coming from or having to replace it simply because it wasn't sturdy or practical enough for you and your family.

Also I think it best to never take anyone else's word for it. Not even the salesman. These kind of things you need get on and get in yourself and sit and lay and bounce and preferably bring your mate or friend along and have em get on it with you and don't be afraid to test it's comfort and strength.
