  1. Happy One year anniversary!!

here is a beautiful recipe and it isn't very expensive at all..

    you will need

    2 chicken b*****s ($6-8)

    1 punnet of cherry tomatoes($2)

    1 head of fresh garlic($1)

    olive oil

    cous cous ($3)

    fresh basil ($2)

Butterfly the chicken breast, rub with oil salt and pepper and pan fry

make a large square of tin foil with a few layers and put the garlic cloves (in their skins) and the cherry tomatoes on the foil. drizzle oil over the top .. salt and pepper and wrap up like a small parcel. bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes take out and open the top, press lightly on a piece of garlic to make sure they are soft.

when it has cooled slightly just squeeze the garlic cloves and they should come straight out of their skins. so now you should have a lovely cherry tomato and garlic compote

With the cous cous , put one cup into a large bowl with salt and pepper add in 1 cup of boiling water and continue to fluff with a knife .. if it looks or feels a bit gluggy add some more water. Right at the end add a spoon of butter or margarine and stir through.

To serve: Place the chicken breast atop the cous cous and spoon the cherry tomato and garlic compote over the top.

Garnish with fresh rough chopped basil and a drizzle of olive oil

If you dont like cous cous ... serve with good old mash potato or buttered fettucine (both cheap and delicious)

If you want a cheap dessert let me know and ill edit one in :)

  2. CONGRATULATIONS! first off ;)

and I really like loose leaf teas with fruit accents, like mango or raspberries.

I also like powdered japanese rice/green teas.

If it is sorta afternoon tea I might make scones or tarts.

If it is more like lunch, mini sandwiches :x

just my random ideas!  hope it all works out

  3. Hello!!  I think it is funny that most people have missed the point of tea!!  I am assuming that you are either from the U.K or Australia cos i no that you mean dinner!! Anyway.  Its a bit hard cos you haven't said what you like or don't like but anyway.  I have a nice recipe for a bolagnse sauce made the italian way.   It is enexpensive and lovely.

    So you will need

800 gram tin of whole or diced roma tomatoes

250 grams mince of your choice (mixture of turkey and beef is nice)

    5-6 cloves of fresh garlic

    a white or brown onion

fresh parsley, bazil and oregano  (dry is ok but fresh is best!!)

about 1 cup red or white wine (optional)

a bit of chilli (also optional)

Ok finely chop the onion and mince the garlic and fry in a little oil (olive if you have it) until it is just turning brow then add the mince and cook until browned, at this point add the tinned tomatoes (if you can blend them until they are smooth first, if you can't do this break them up as much as you can). Then add the wine (if using) and a cup of water aswell (if not using wine add just one tin off all water) cut up about 1/2 a bunch of each herb and put in sauce.  Boil rapidly for about 15 mins with lid on, then turn down so it is simmering with the lid on for another 1/2 hour.  Then take the lid 1/2 off until the sauce has thickened and taste rich.  For extra flavour put in 1-2 chicken stock cubes, and make sure you add salt.  Oh and you can add the chilli at any point but don't  too much it is more for flavour not so much heat.

Ricotta ravioli is nice with this, just follow the instructions on the pack and make sure you salt the water and mix a little of the pasta sauce through the pasta before you put in the bowl and a nice spoon of sauce on top, serve with a side salad and good parmesan for the pasta.

For dessert get a good quality vanilla icecream and serve with fresh fruit, i think strawberries are nice.

Well i hope i have helped, and feel free to email me if you need anyhelp.

  4. What about Kenyan Tea? And I don't mean it *** any offense. My best friend and her mom made me Kenyan tea when I went to their house, and it was lovely. I mean..it's just a suggestion. :D

  5. if you both like fish from the supermarket buy smoked salmon bits (£1.20) and some prawns make a sauce using mayo and tomato ketchup and serve with a jacket potato and salad

  6. CANBERRY GREEN TEA:

    1/2 cup frozen cranberries

    1/4 cup frozen blueberries

    1/2 cup frozen blackberries

    5 frozen whole strawberries

    1 ripe banana

1/2 cup brewed green tea, cooled to room temperature

    1/4 cup plain soy milk

2 tablespoons honey or packed light brown sugar

    Instructions

In a blender, whirl all ingredients until smooth.

With it you can prepare, Blackberry Roll Pastries(yummy, easy):

    2 cups sifted flour

    3 teaspoons baking powder

    1 teaspoon salt

    1 tablespoon granulated sugar

    1/4 cup shortening

3/4 cup milk, more or less

2 cups fresh cleaned and sliced blackberries

    3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon butter, cut in several small pieces

    Preparation:

Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and 1 tablespoon sugar. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles meal. Add enough milk to make a soft dough. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough out into a 1/4-inch thickness. Spread with blackberries to about 1/2-inch of edge. Sprinkle 3/4 cup sugar evenly over the berries then dot with the butter. Roll up like a jelly roll and seal ends. Place in a greased shallow baking dish. Bake at 425° for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve with cream or whipped topping.

    Serves 8.
