  1. You probably had hyperthyroidism already and the anxiety and depression followed.

ECG, Inderal 40 bid, Klonopin 0.5 bid

Have many thyroid panels done prior to going on any anti-thyroid meds.  An endocrinologist should take over immediately.

  2. I have had hyperthyroidism but not due to taking herbs.

I believe it is possible however that the herbs you were taking

could have caused the sympotoms you describe and even

cause the thryoid levels to show as elevated. Make certain that you tell your doctor exactly what you were taling, he probably needs to see the ingredients. Herbs are very powerful and need to be used carefully. I would definitely try to wait just a bit longer to see if your symptoms calm down before pursuing any treatment for your thyroid. On the other hand you may actually have already had the hyperthyroid and the herbs just exacerbated the situation.  A good endocrinologist will be able to help you, however you must tell him about the herbs so that he can get the "whole picture."

  3. You might have had those symptoms before you took Chinese medicine.

Take medications for hyperthyroidism, depression and anxiety.  You should be OK.

Also these medicine also can cause all those symptoms.
