Has anyone got into their first choice University?....?

.....when you didnt do as well in your A-levels and scored just under the required points?

I've just had my As results and well, i'm a little disappointed, but i know i've got to try harder next year, but i was just wondering....

  1. only 3 universities in the US had the subject I wanted to study.  I applied to the one in my state and got in.


  2. A lot of people do if it's a near miss, but it does depend on the university and course.

  3. Try retaking some of the modules that you didn't do so well in to raise your grade. I had to retake 1 AS module and 1 A2 module and they both greatly improved my grades so i got into my first choice uni. Some of my friends didn't get the grades they needed but they could still do the course they wanted. Sometimes the uni offers you a place on a similar course with lower entry requirements. But really it depends on the university, the course you want to do and how many places there are.
