Has anyone got tips on how to get better at a 3point start.?

i am just starting sprinting and i havent actully got a way to start. i decided to do 3 point start and has anyone got any tips to help me get better and best ways to do it thanks

  1. Ideally, I would suggest that you start practicing your down start right away. The down start is far more effective than a 3-point, and there's not much you need to do to perfect the start, besides training yourself to react quickly to the gun.

    If you're set on doing a 3-point start, the key is making sure that you focus on your forward drive. If you rock backwards when the gun goes off, you lose precious time. Make sure that you drive your free hand forward along with your opposite knee (for me, it's my left arm and right knee), and direct your drive forward, not up. Also, on the "set" command, come up high, but not too high. If you're too high up, you're just going to pop up instead of drive forward.
