Has anyone gotten pregnant while having the mirena IUD?

Chance of pregnancy is .09% the same as if you had your tubes tied. However the chance that you do become pregnant it higher during the 1st 12 months and chances of it being an ectopic pregnancy is higher since it does not prevent ectopic pregnancies.

it can happen,the chance is less than 1%.Its also associated with an increased risk of ectopic pregnancies.

However its a very very effective and convenient method of contraception and its the biggest invention in Obs and GYN lately.

I have had the Mirena IUD for about 9 mos. I had a positive pregnancy test yesterday.

My periods have been all messed up since I got it and I've been exercising a lot so I didnt think much of my sleepiness and missed period. The pain in my b*****s made me buy the test.

So much for Mirena...
