  1. yes, it will grow fine, just never as large as if planted in the ground, and it will need water much more often.


  2. Yes it will do fine, as long as the pot is big, they do have quite a root system. The dwarf types of course will do fine in a nice size pot.I.m sure if it out grows your pot it will let you know..the wood is some of the hardest wood i have ever seen.

  3. You sure can but you will need to continue bumping up the containers, as the tree gets larger. If you want to plant a 6-8' crape myrtle in a container you should use a #10 - #15 container. The tree can stay comfortably in that container for up to 1.5 years. Then you should transplant into a #15 - #25 container. Hope this helps.
