My upstairs neighbours are kindly putting it on the floors to stop impact/acoustic noise coming through into my flat. Will it work?

  1. Probably improve things- Acoustilay 15 is for use where both airborne and impact noise insulation is required. It is constructed with a resilient foam core bonded between two flexible attenuating surfaces and has an overall thickness of 15mm. It meets the requirements of Building Regulations Approved Document E, and you can't really say fairer than that, apart from the fact that - unlike some others - it is a doddle to lay.

  2. all you need to do is staple egg boxes to the wall/ceiling and then either leave them as they are, or use plasterboard over them.

it's brilliant, my brother soundproofed his garage that way, and even using a 100 watt amp on full volume, you still couldn't hear him.
