I am sooo annoyed with them! I got on the phone with them yesterday and they were checking my lines an callin me for like 2 hours, because I have static, drop calls, have weird beeping noises on the other end, and when I turn my phone on to dial a number, the dial tone beeps like 5 times, before its a consistant tone that I can dial. All this was suppose to be fixed, and nothing was solved! what should I do? I have had the service for about a week.

  1. I've had Vonage for 2 years now.  I like it, but I don't love it.  First off, let's address your issue with the quality.  If your internet speed (at least 90 Mbps) & your ISP offers you decent internet, you really shouldn't have a problem with Vonage's quality of service.  When I was having problems with Vonage, it was because my kids were downloading garbage from the internet.  Bandwidth is precious when using VOIP.  Since you're scrimping on phone calls...don't scrimp on internet service.  Second off, my problem with Vonage is the flexibility to use any phone I want to use.  Fact is, I have to use an IP phone which I'd bought from Vonage for about triple the cost of a regular phone.  I have to hook up the main phone, which is also a router, to my internet modem.  That's a pain because my internet service is with Comcast, and they hooked up my modem in a corner somewhere in my bedroom.  So I get 1 cordless phone with that corded router phone.  The cordless phone doesn't hold it's charge and it sucks because I can't go anywhere in the house without getting complaints from the person I'm talking to.  Overall, I would recommend it because it's better than Comcast Digital Voice as far as the quality.  But nothing beats the old fashioned, expensive land line in the reliability area.

  2. I am a Vonage (close to 2 years) and MagicJack User (close to 1 Month).

    Vonage isn't too bad their customer service is great (so far no problems) and I recently got 2 months free for telling them I am trying another VOiP service (I didn't tell them it was the MagicJack) so they try to keep customers but at a price I suppose on THEIR end.

    Not hard to install, just plug into your modem and plug your computer in their modem they send you and plug in your phone into the jack labeled "line" or "phone"

    Call VONAGE toll free at 1-VONAGE-HELP (1-866-243-4357)

    Lastly

    MagicJack = $40 + shipping for their product then $20 per year thereafter YES per year

    (not much of a number selection)

    Vonage = $20 - $42 per month (one or 2 lines)

    (WIDE number selection because they lease numbers from phone companies)

    Search for MagicJack discussions in Yahoo Answers. :-)

    I have answered quite a few.

    Hope this helps..

    Thanks
