Has anyone had a epidural blood patch?

I had a spinal tap yesterday and today woke up with a terrible headache and backache. I have an appt. in the morning to get an epidural blood patch. I had an awful experience with needles yesterday (had to keep sticking me due to not being able to find the right spot). Will they give me anything for pain if I ask or even sedate me? Thanks for any answers.

I have never had this but have had 9 epidural shots for pain and the doctor gave me xanax to relax me before the procedure. Ask the doctor for something to calm you down before the procedure or just ask them for something to help with pain. They will most likely give you something because they know it's not a pain free procedure.
