  1. The only problem with removing a keloid is that you already have a tendency to scar, which could make a removal attempt moot.  I have the same problem.  I had a huge keloid that looked like a fat, pink caterpillar, due to removal of a suspicious looking mole.  My doctor injected it with steroids and while it was painful, it caused my keloid to flatten and become nearly the same color as the rest of my skin.  There is no fool proof cure for them, but a doctor can help reduce it greatly.  Good luck!

  2. I have developed keloids on both my ears.  I had both surgically removed, the one on the left ear has never recurred, the one on my right ear has returned twice.  Tried steroid treatment to no avail. I then tried cryotherapy coupled with steroid injections, that also did not work.  I then had it surgically removed once again with routine steroid injects immediately afterward.  Once healed, I used pressure for about 6 months.  That worked for a while, but on occasion I feel thickening in my lobe. At that time I then use the pressure earring again and the thickening receeds.  There is really no foolproof method and various methods may or may not work for different people.  See a dermatologist or plastic surgeon who specializes in scar treatment.
