Has anyone had a problem with Acer monitors?

When mine goes on sleep mode or shuts down I can't get it to open up again in the usual way.

Yes my Acer 1917 flat panel a lil over a year old started burning inside.It let out a  terrible smokey smell and from someone who takes care of there electronics this was a big let down from Acer products to me.They finally warrentied it after numerous telephone calls and being on hold forever in 4 weeks they sent the same moniter back fixed supposivly but only after I bought a new one.

with mine sometimes it just goes off if you slightly touch the wire and starts to crackle, i have to fiddle around a bit with it to get it back on. it's like a psychiatric patient!!!

I do have problems, but not like yours. My acer montior goes crazy and blurry for couple of minutes and I have to tap the screen to get it working properly again. Don't know how to fix your monitor. sorry!
