My husband just got back from the worst trip of his life, thanks to the friendly (cough cough) people from NWA... every one of his 5 flights was horrible, and he literally only met ONE helpful person from NWA the entire time.... just wondering if it was a freak occurrence....

  1. 5 out of 5 is pretty bad.

I usually have an okay time on NW.  But, every airline in the world has dropped the ball for somebody at some point in time.

  2. When i use to have to pick between Northwest or United to travel overseas (these were the only 2 airlines that flew to my destination without having to change airlines in the middle of the trip) I use to pick Northwest over United. United is much worse, granted this was like 3-4 years ago so NWA's customer service might be worse now. The only downside I saw at the time for Northwest was the "food", if you even want to call it that, it was terrible. United had much better food but NWA's staff was much nicer. My buddy just flew to Singapore with them last month and said NWA is pretty much terrible now. I guess this is how all US airlines are nowadays. This is why I always opt for an Asian airline when I travel to Asia.

  3. All the airlines stink. NWA is no exception.....

Customers service is horrible, delays are constant., ect ect...

  4. They don't call it NorthWORST Airlines for nothing.

I have had multiple bad experiences with Northwest. Starting from the rude ground staff who will not answer any questions to FAs who are outright snarling/sneering at passangers, NW really takes the cake.

  5. I'm a flight attendant and I work very hard to ensure that everyone on my plane feels at home and cared for. I only work the little 50 seat-er CRJs so you know how cramped they are and delays are just part of the package, it's sometimes hard to help people understand why you're sitting on the taxi way in Memphis because of weather in Pittsburgh. :)

Having said that, I never have anyone get off of one of my planes unhappy and almost every passenger tells me I did a great job and made it fun. While this is all very nice and encouraging, it concerns me. I didn't stand on my head or dance or shine their shoes, nothing special really, I was just nice. If travelers are that excited because someone is nice to them how must they be getting treated by the rest of the airline employees out there? A little frightening isn't it?
