Has anyone had a similar experience?

I was with my family earlier this year, on the day of my relatives' son's death. going from the church service to the funeral, we were sitting in the car, all silent, listening to the radio. then Alicia Keys' song 'No One' came on, and it just felt so real: i felt that song so strongly.

I saw on YouTube for Kanye West's song 'Homecoming', ( on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hotjeKvovg ) Sparkle 1309 had the same thing.

Have you had a similar experience? a sort of surreal one?

not just to do with death, but not a cheery kind of one either?

Sure, it happend to me many times.

Useally we just listen to a song because we like the beat or the tune but sometimes, when we actually listen to the words, it feels like this song was written for us.

It usally happendes when i go through a fase that involves thinking and soul-searching.

Yes I have, but my experiences have only ever been very temporary.  I mean to say that what ever was linked to the experience to make feel that way faded quickly and the experience had no meaning.

my godfather died last year and only weeks BEFORE he died, he came and visited me in my dreams. i told him that i had to let him go and that he needed to pass over (to the other side), he wouldn't let me go but i left. we knew we would never get to say goodbye in person so we did it in spirit. it sucked knowing he was going, but at least i had my peace.
