I was wondering if anyone hated highschool- the immature people, the annoying drama, etc. and loved college?

I've hated the past 3 years of highschool and i can't wait until college but i'm wondering will college be better? i LOVED elementary school and middle school but when i switched to my new school in 9th grade i hated it. everyone here is s****. and immature and i want to know if anyone has had a terrible time in highschool but tons of fun in college. i don't really hang out with friends much but in college i want to let loose and go crazy. I'm thinking of UCLA .... I get good grades and have studied hard these past couple years and i was wondering if college is great.?

  1. Much better! High school is drama and immaturity everywhere you look, however you should try and have a social life out of school rather than in. Let school be your serious study time there will be lots of fun to be had when classes let out. Sounds like you will be attending a fun collage. Just don't worry too much about the people who get you down you seem smart enough to know that school is not the place for immaturity or s****. dramatic c**p!

  2. its so much better. people have had time to grow up

  3. You will LOVE college. End of story.

  4. Yes! I hated high school and middle school!  It was the worst years of my life.  I was made fun of and there were lots of snotty people at my school as well.  Once I went to college that all changed. I made lots of good friends. It was probably one of the best times of my life. I graduated from college 4 years ago and am still best friends with many of the people that I met there.  Also, those s****. people won't know what to do when high school is over!  It's pretty funny because I went to college with some of the snobs and they had no idea what to do!  Good luck!

  5. I've heard from most of my friends in college, and other college students, that if you hated high school, you'll love college. It's even more likely that you'll get away from all the high school c**p if you go to an Ivy League or almost Ivy League school... you know, where all the "intellectuals" go. But UCLA is a good, big school, so you'll be able to be very selective with who you surround yourself with. Study hard, and don't fall off the wagon, because I slacked off my freshman and sophomore years, took on more than I could handle junior year, and am left with whipping my *ss into shape for the first semester of senior year and hoping I will get into one or more of the few colleges I have left to choose from.

  6. I can't wait to go to college either only 2 and a half years to go!

  7. high school and college have pretty much been the same for me, I see all the same groups and lame immature people. but now they can drink legally, joy.

  8. Well, I didnt go to college, but that is a long story :P I did visit a lot of my friends at college, in their dorms and stuff, it was a lot different. Everyone is a lot more grown up, high school things are in the past, most people are able to grow out of old grudges. Not all tho :P

  9. College is much better. It's all about the learning, and nothing focuses the mind like when you have to spend real money for your education.

  10. Unless your a poor b*****d like me, you'll probably love college. Even so, aside from the money issues, I like college a lot. Most of the a*****e-ish people concentrate themselves in frats and sororities, so they are easily avoidable., and Professors don't put up with their bullshit in class. You also get to have more control over your day since you spend less time in class and more time learning the material yourself (studying). If you have good time management skills, you'll have plenty of time to go party or do whatever you enjoy. Work hard, play hard, and you should find it very exciting.

  11. Yea youre like my brother who wants to leave but my oldest brother, when he was in college he said it was fun. you usually start in November, but have short classes, can eat anytime, and could even go to class dressed in your PJ's. Sometimes if you're too good for your classes, take a nap xD

  12. Elleee, hang in there, college does have more mature ppl but can't promise you that you won't relive the same stuff as in H.S. Just stay positive with yourself.

I don't kow what ppl made your life a problem in H.S, but more than likely, you will be above those mediocre insecure minds either way. :-) Good Luck!

  13. i am not in college but my brother is and he said it's a lot of fun. other the the school work and jobs and studying he has a lot of fun.

  14. I'm A Junior Now and I Had Lot's Of Drama for the past 2 years and I Agree Elementary and Middle school Was So Much Better and I Did Had A Terrible time =[

But I Heard that Colloge is GREAT.

    Good Luck in UCLA :]

  15. It is what you make of it.  There are a lot of smart and interesting people at UCLA, so you should be fine there.  Just be patient.

  16. Didn't care much for the people I went to middle and high school with. All the drama and cliques. But LOVED college.

Tom: I'm right there in the debt boat with ya.

  17. College is much different than high school. You will meet people of all ages from all walks of life. There will be snobbery, but there are more regular people than them, so it won't matter. Just do things that interest you and you will fall into a group of friends in no time.

  18. I hated high school, graduated early and started at community college at 16, absolutely loved it! The immaturity and drama doesnt just go away, but the higher up you go in your studies the less there is of it. In college, there is definitely a more mature crowd that you can surround yourself with that is just not available in high school. I just transfered to a UC and so far its fabulous! In college its like, you can party hard and study hard, and with the same people. I'd say that as long as you dont let yourself get sucked into the drama crowd, and you dont seem like you would, then you'll have a fabulous time in college.

  19. I didn't like high school much, and I did find college to be a lot more enjoyable. You're not forced to be with people you don't like, and there are always new people to meet (I went to a big school). Also I don't mean to sound like a snob but I also found that people at my college were on average smarter, like they understood me better than people from high school. But I think that being around people of the same intellectual level will make you more comfortable discussing more things.

  20. I hate highschool.

Though there were parts I really liked.

  21. to be honest I have only been at college for one year and so far it has been great, you will probably meet more people, have more fun, and find out more about yourself thanyou ever have in your entire life. O and UCLA is a pretty sweet place to do that.

  22. College is a ton better than high school.  Most college kids are too unfamiliar with eachother to be mean.

I personally hated high school, I wasn't involved in much of it, but just watching it happen.........sucks.

College is a much better environment as far as the social aspect of it goes.  For all aspects for that matter.

  23. I've only been in highschool for one year... and I already hate it. I've asked a few people if college is any better and they've all told me it is because nobody is immature and most people just kind of mind their own business... I also can't wait until Im out of highschool it sucks... to much drama...

  24. college is a wonderful time!  But there is still alot of immaturity and rumors, etc.  and guess what, it's like that once you get out of college and into the workplace too.  I'm not trying to discourage you, though.  College was the greatest time of my life for sure!!!

  25. ★ YES! ★

  26. Wow I'm the complete opposite of you! I hated middle school and elementery. I guess college is better b/c you have more freedom, but they're also a lot more people doing things like getting drunk or high.

  27. college is what you make it.

i suggest you have fun now while your in high school, at least try to attempt to make more friends and hang out, because you bring the social habits you have from high school to college.

but it is way more fun and easier to make meaningful friendships. if you're willing to put in the effort.

  28. I hated high school, and, outside of two people, do not keep in touch with any of the kids from my class.  This year is our 30th anniversary, and, when one of the friends I keep in touch with asked if I was going, I said, "h**l No!  They can kiss my ***!"

College was a different matter.  I enjoyed it immensely, and can relate to how you feel about the two.
