Has anyone had an OBE - or 'out of body experience?'

When I was younger I had the sensation of rising out of my own body about 3 inches and it scared the life out of me and I 'thumped' back down/ I could actually FEEL my hands moving through my real hands!

After that I read about it and used to try and try but would get a sensation of 'my spirit shaking' or slight rising but then it would feel like I hit a barrier or else fear always overtook me. There was one time when my mum came in the room to speak to me and my boyfriend but I pretended to be asleep (wanting to make her go quicker) and I started 'rising' against my will and had to actually fight it! I couldn't believe it did that when I wasn't ready for it!

I haven't done it or tried it in many years now but wondered if anyone really has done it here?

Go on...take tease me if you must! :) I'm being serious!

  1. Usually those things happen to people who have had a "near-death" experience. Their heart stopped beating on the operating table etc. They say they saw their body rise up to the ceiling and could see everything that was going on around them. That's what I consider an out of body experience. There have been numerous books and articles written about this phenomenon

  2. Yes, I genuinely have!

When I was about 4 years old I fell in a lake and nearly drowned. My dad jumped in in his clothes to save me, and I actually SAW him dive in.

How could I have done that if I was drowning underwater?

I can tell you what he was wearing! A grey sweatshirt with a black stripe on, and blue jeans and hiking boots

I really did see him! Like I was floating above him like I was flying.

    spooky

    Spud xox

  3. I've only watched a cartoon about that, but i think it would mostly happen if your asleep.

  4. No, i havnt.

But that would be neat =)

  5. Dream is essentially an out of body experience, one may be running, swimming and or flying while body is asleep and still!

  6. I had open heart surgery and I did not have one but as a nurse I've talked to people that have.
