Our company have recently received some invoices from a company called the EU Company Directory for insertion into their on-line data base.

The correspondence they originally sent us was very unclear and led us to believe that it was a free service, it wasn't until the invoice arrived (after the cooling off period had expired) that we realised we would be required to pay a fee of 995 euros per year for three years!

As soon as we received the invoice & their CD we wrote to them and sent them back the CD.

They have now begun to chase the money and are refusing to let us cancel the subscription.

I have looked on the internet and found several sites/articles that all state that this company is a scam.

We obviously do not want to pay the invoice and wondered if anyone could advise us on our next course of action?

  1. Ignore them, they are a SCAM and they are just trying to intimidate you into paying.  They can't make you pay and they won't risk taking you to court and showing their faces.
