  1. I haven't tried it either, but I did get the "canada green" mix and that does real nice here at 4,500' in the high desert. we have poor soil here in Reno, nothing but hardy weeds like it here. I de-rockified the ground to about 3" and tilled in some cow poo fertilizer and then just broadcast the canada green mix and watered every day 'till it came up.The property management supervisor said it looked like a golf course.

  2. I too thought that Patch Perfect sounded a little too good to be true....so I checked into it a few months ago.

I can't find the exact site I found <had to search dozens and dozens of them> but discovered the grass seed content was mostly annual rye.  Which means it would germinate quickly, grow quickly and look lush-----for one growing season only!  It gets zapped by frost and cold temps and does not re-grow.

Better to get a bag of Scott's ....I live New England....so a combination of kentucky blue and red fescue mix is perfect.

Or, if you need to repair some areas, Scott's does sell a product called Patch Master.  I can vouch for it,  it works great.  Just remember to keep it moist.

4 light sprinklings a day at first, til it germinates, is very important for ANY grass seed.

    Good luck!

  3. Have not tried it ---skeptical ---- seems like everything I bought 'as-seen-on-tv' was a dud except for those storage containers.

that 'awesome auger' with the free drill was a joke---won't penetrate this clay soil. was supposed to be $19.95---with shipping and handling it came to seventy some dollars and then they automatically signed me up for an automobile club with re-occuring payments billed to my CC---that I did not request.---you would not have to go through that though if you buy from that website you found instead of dialing

  4. I have seen this product but have not used it. Is there some kind of guarantee with it? The person you know who used it and said it never worked, would they be someone who does their own gardening with success? I know people who put a plant in the ground, never water it and then complain it didnt grow?

  5. I know you're looking for firsthand experience and I'm sorry I can't offer that, but perhaps this will help.

I was interested in the Patch Perfect seed, so, like I often do when I'm scoping out a product, I went to the internet and just typed in "Patch Perfect". After wading through all the sales sites, I came upon one called infomercialscams.com and read some rather interesting reviews. Based on these people's experiences, I decided to just go buy some grass seed at Lowes.

    Good luck with your lawn.

  6. We have dogs, and we have to reseed a portion of our yard every spring, and I have tried everything.  I will tell you the one thing that works every time, and mind you this is after years of four dogs urinating in the same spot:  Go to the local farm supply store and purchase regular grass seed in bulk.  Till the area lightly, lay the seed, and water two or three times a day.  You will get an amazing yard for only a few dollars, and the grass you get will be much hardier and greener than anything you get from a prepackaged product.  All those fancy patch products are absolutely a waste of money.
