I have started it this week, to see if it will help me to ovulate.

Have you had any result of any kind on Maca Root?

Whens a good time to take it?

Cooked or Uncooked Powder?

How Much?

Any other effects?

  1. I've tried it, as have many of our customers... but it's primarily a libido booster. I know there are some women that take it for hormonal support, so it's possible that it might help for ovulation.... but do you mean you aren't ovulating right now? If you're on the pill, in menopause, or haven't started your period yet, I would suggest against taking this (or any herb for hormonal support) until you talk to a doctor (or a pharmacist if it's the pill... they'll have the same interaction information).

That being said, you can take it any time of day. Since it can boost the libido, some people get a little boost of energy from it... nothing sufficient, but enough that it might keep you awake if you take it right before bed.

If you take it in powder form, you shouldn't cook it. High heat can damage the nutritional integrity of most herbs, and can render some of them useless.

I would suggest buying capsules or tablets of Maca if you're going to get it... they're a lot easier to get down, they have standardized doses, and you won't have to worry about the taste. Good luck!
