In 2004 I purchased a car with a co-signer financed through Chrysler. The co-signer's name was first and mine second on the contract. The vehicle was mine totally, she never had anything to do with the car financially, I made all the payments (never late) for years. I went to trade the car in and came to find that Chrysler never reported me to any of the credit companies...they only gave credit to the co-signer. Now I have extremely high APR on the new car because I am being treated as a high-risk, first time buyer. I contacted Chrysler and explained to the operator the entire situation. She said that they would send me something called a "credit rating letter" and that I could possibly use it to petition the credit beuros (Equifax, Transunion). Has anyone ever had anything like this happen to them? How did you resolve, or at least try to resolve it? Chrysler is such a large well-known bank that I would hope they would try to help me after being a good customer for 4 years. Thanks!!!
