Has anyone had experience with QuikClot Sport, used to stop bleeding?

  1. While I personally have not used it.  I know that the Special forces and field paramedics have these in their trauma kits.  

    i definitely would suggest you keep it in stock for major wounds


  2. It's still a controversial thing. My theory is, if the bleeding's severe enough, USE IT!  We were told that 3 beanbag-sized bags could stop bleeding from a severed femoral artery (one of the largest arteries in your body)!  If you do decide to use it, please make sure you read ALL of the instructions & precautions!  The guy that did our inservice said the only safe way to remove the bags was to use a pretty large saline flush, and in the ER.

  3. Yeah, it's sort of like a liquid bandaid. I'd recommend it.
