If so, could you recommend the agency you used and whether or not you were satisfied with the company? Thanks!

  1. We did not adopt internationally, but friends of ours did and are in the process of doing it again.  They used the same agency that we did and we both highly recommend them.

Adoptions from the Heart.  You can find out more info at www.adoptionsfromtheheart.org.

We are considering adoption again in the future, and may choose an international adoption.  Regardless of which route we go - international or domestic - we would consider using Adoptions from the Heart again.

    Good luck to you.

  2. yeah my mum and dad adopted my dads twin brothers daugther and what a mess that it. my brother tres killuin him sen "!!!!

  3. We used AWAA and couldn't have been more satisfied. It is a Christian agency which was great for us. They were so supportive and prayed for us throughout the process. They were very professional and have continued to impress us. I highly recommend them.

For us, the entire adoption process was the most amazing experience! We have been blessed with an incredible girl!

  4. Check out the boards at...

    www.adoption.com

You will find lots of info. And can ask others based on what country you thinking of.

    Good-Luck :)

  5. Yes, Childrens Hope International is an AMAZING agency, my mom hold meetings who are jsut considering adoption. Here is their website. good luck!

  6. We are currently in the process of adopting a little boy with special needs from Hungary, of all places. We are using "About A Child" (http://www.aboutachild.org/) and they have been great so far. They handle international adoptions of children with and without special needs, but they usually waive all their agency fees for special needs adoptions. They also offer an instant $1000 grant for military families. In some cases, you can foster an older child here in the U.S. for a time before adopting them.

With domestic adoptions there is always the chance that the birth parents can change their minds and take the child back. My husband and I did not want to risk this so we decided to go internationally.

There are so many waiting children around the world that it just makes this a very special, very selfless, thing to do.

  7. Some agencys facilitate adoptions from many countries and other work only with one or two countries. I adopted from China. The agency I used was excellent facillitating an adoption from China as it was the only country they dealt with and had good contacts within China. The guides for my in China travel were second to none. Would I use them again? I don't know. I think if I still qualified for China (I am single and no longer qualify) I would adopt a waiting child with a medical special need.

The problem with picking an agency first if you are going the special needs route is that you are restricted to working only with that agency and the files of children sent to that agency. If you find your child on another agencys waiting child list you cannot pull your paper work (dossier) back and then relog in with the new agency. That is one of China's new regulations and is the same for all of the agencys working in China.

Your question is to vague really to get decent answers. It might help if you have decided on a country first. If you can decide on a country, people who have used agencys that work with that country can offer advise on reputable agencys.
