Question:

Has anyone had problems with bent wheels/rims on on Infiniti G35 Coupe?

I have antera rims that came on the car when I bought it less than a year ago. I have hit some serious pot holes and now have wheels that are bent and can't be repaired. When I called Infiniti and asked them about getting factory wheels, they said the problem may persist.

Has anyone else had this problem with their factory or custom wheels?

  1. "You hit some serious pot holes...."

A G35 is not intended to hit pot holes; you need to take more care in your driving, or get a vehicle suited to your driving style with tall skinny truck tires that will handle "...serious pot holes..."

I do not know how small a wheel will fit over your G35's brake calipers; but the smallest wheel offered stock appears to be 17" with 225/50R17 tires on the front, and 235/70R17 tires on the back.  They are very low profile.  Optional wheels have even lower profile tires.

You may want to trade your G35 for something like a Nissan Rogue S AWD which comes with 215/70R16 tires as standard.  These have side walls which are 150mm tall (215 x .70) versus 112mm tall (225 x .50) which will absorb a great deal more "pot hole" without damage to the rims.

Overall these showy tall wheels with very short side wall tires are for appearance only - they are expensive, and do not protect the wheels.

Tire size: for example P225/50R17 means:

    P - passenger car

225 - 225 mm section width (max tire width ± 5mm at nominal pressure and load)

50 - 50 series, means that the side wall height is 50% of the section width

    R - radial

17 - rim diameter in inches.
