  1. Ethanol or Ethyl Alcohol is a dangerous cargo, highly flammable. The problem comes when it is on fire. The flames are nearly invisible. Also alcohol mixes with water and water hoses will not put out the fire, only spread it. You need a special fire fighting foam,  called AFFF (aqueous film forming foam) applied in a 6% solution to blanket the fire and smother it.
