  1. I started selling Mary Kay over 3 years ago - and I LOVE it! If by successful, you mean profitable -  then yes, I am!

The great thing about selling Mary Kay is that once you have customers, they fall in love with the products and place re-orders every few months without you needing to do much of anything!

I sold Avon for a while before MK, but found that it was difficult to make money at it, because the selling structures are so different. With MK, you make 50% profit from everything you sell. With Avon, you have to sell over $1000 in a few weeks to make that much profit (otherwise you are making like 20%-30%).

If you would like more specifics on Mary Kay, I would be happy to talk more with you and help you get started as a Beauty Consultant if you decide MK is the company for you.  :)

  2. Yes, many people have ~ hence the pink cadillacs !

I sold Mary Kay for about 1 year ~ not successful

You have to make alot of cold calls and get into homes where they love the product and will keep buying from you to get residual sales.

It is alot of slepping product around.  Marketing, demonstrating, for a few bucks.

You do make 50% but you haev alot of expenses too.

Plus the people who are really successful ~ make money off of recruiting others to be intheir unit ~ then they make money off of YOU.

  3. I have been a MK Beauty Consultant since February and it's great money but you have to apply yourself. Check out my website and see what you think.

  4. Sure I started Mary Kay 4 years ago for the discount never intending to do more and found I loved it shortly after quit my full time job and now I am home with my children.  I think like with any business there is good and bad.  I think it is important to love the product you sell it really makes it easier.  So try both if you haven't already and then ask questions about the busienss plan.  I found the Avon busienss plan complicated your income percented was based on your sales so there are pro's and con's with both depending on what is best for you.
