Has anyone had surgery on a herniated disk in there lower back?

I have a Herniated Disk and I am thinking about surgery.. do you still have pain or has it gone away how do you feel now?...i have went to a chiropractor and and its been about a year and i am still experiencing pain...it has got better but I'mw i feflat linedm just flatlined and its not getting any better or worse...any suggestions? i went to physical therapy but it was to much and we couldnt afford it...

  1. my husband had back surgery 2 years ago he regreats every minute of it he had to have his 4th and 5th discs removed they put screws and metal in there he got a bad infection about 1 month after surgery they had to cut him open again and hose out the infection he had a antibiotic pump in his arm for 38 days other wise they would have kept him in the hospital all that time since he still has a bad back and he did the theropy and shots in his spin he is always achin every day i feel bad for him he gets real miserable and discusted alot....he has a pain managment dr he sees once a month thats how his surgery went. good luck with your choice....


  2. You should look into spinal decompression.  Most insurances cover this.  Just Google it.

  3. My boyfriend has a herniated disc and has gone through months of physical therapy and chiro work! He even tried out spinal decompression, which actually ended up hurting him and he was on the floor for three days, unable to walk because of it. So needless to say, he probably won't be doing spinal decompression again, plus it costs around $5,000 to get all the sessions you'll need.

    He tries to go swimming a few times a week at the local gym, and once he improves some more, he is going to do yoga and pilates (both I've heard work wonders for people with back pain) because they focus on your core.

    If you can't afford physical therapy, I would try to make it to the gym and do some core exercises, along with yoga and/or pilates!

    Just be careful with lifting weights because that's what injured my boyfriend for the second time!
