  2. yes, I had a bad month in July,........ On July 1st at 6:10 pm I lost my kitten to Toxoplasmosis, he was suffering so bad, he wouldnt eat, wouldnt eat or drink and well it was bad.

    Then July 28th at 2:30pm I lost my dog he had congestive heart failier, and I had to let him go as well, so I know what you are going through, I am so sorry about your loss, But I think if a pet is suffering it is best to let them go,

    Maybe this poem will help you, it did help me;

    Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

    When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

    All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

    They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

    You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

    Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

  4. My beautiful Abyssinian boy was put to sleep at the age of 16 in 2005, it was horrible i had known him since the day i was born, It still hurts right now when i think about it, I loved him so much.

  5. ya, my two dogs, they were with me since i was born and watched over me, i never cry and i cried for about a week, its hard. i believe there is a deep link between humans and animals, but time heals all wounds

  6. Yes. On June 9, 2007 I had to put my 17 year old cat down. It was awful. I spent my last moments with her and I was just bawling. My last words were "Bye Sasha." She had kidney failure and was getting skinnier and skinnier. It was so hard because 1, I couldn't pick her up for her last week of living because it could have hurt her and 2, she had known me since the day I was born. I had known her all of my life and I couldn't imagine her being gone. It was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I will never forget her. I have pictures and videos and think about her every second of the day. Literally. There is not one day that I do not think of her.

    No I have a spunky little 6 month old Natural Solid Tonkinese kitten named Zoey. I got her for Christmas. I know what you are going through. It is really hard. Your cat will always be in your heart. What I did for awhile and often do now is pray and talk to her. I did that every night for months. I have a little moment most nights where I look at pictures and watch videos of her and just think of nothing but her and our great times. Just look at pictures and never forget the cat.

    Its okay.

  7. since i was born i had a rabbit and we had to put him down when i was eight, i was so sad!!!!!! i didnt even get to say goodbye to my soft love

  8. I had to put my cat to sleep several years ago.  She was mine and my husband's first 'child'.  She developed feline luekemia and went downhill quickly.  It was a terrible day for me, but I knew that she was no longer suffering.  A couple months ago, we had to put down my beagle that we had had for several years.  It's a very sad thing to have to put animals to sleep.  Just remember, though, that it is better than them having to suffer.  It's OK to miss them.

  9. I'm really sorry to hear that!  I just put my 14year old cat down last October.  It's a really hard thing to do and a hard thing to find peace with, in my opinion.  I still cry about it and, in fact, I cried about it tonight because I started thinking about her.  One day you'll feel better, but don't let anyone tell you it should be tomorrow.  I'm sure she was pretty sick to have to be put down and that you did the right thing.  It's just so stinkin' hard because you start to feel like you killed your friend and you just don't have your kitty there.  I can't tell you how many times I expected to see my cat in her favorite spots or how many times I thought I needed to feed her.

    I hope I've helped a little by sharing my experience...

  10. Yes, and it was the hardest thing I have ever had to go through in my entire life. I had 2 rottweilers that were brother and sister. Both of them had cancer, and we had to have them out down within a few weeks of each other.  They were the loves of my life, and I still miss them after 6 years.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I know what you are going through, and the hurt you are feeling. I know what a difficult choice it was to make. As much as we love them, and still want them to be around, even more we want to make sure our loved one is not suffering. You were a loving kitty mama for 14 years, and I'm sure your loved one had a very good life, and was lucky to have you.
