Has anyone heard a rooster this morning?

While I've been online I've hear the rooster up the road singing his song...God, I love living out of the city!

No but I sure do miss living out in the country. I am hearing the sea gulls though. Nice to know that they are back here. It means that spring can't be too far away.

I live in a rural Mexican town ,

All my neighbors got chickens.

Unfortunately.   Stupid bird goes off whenever a car drives by on the road with headlights on.   City life did suck though.

I don't live out of the city.  There are people who owns some chickens  two streets over and I hear their rooster crowing every morning, right before the train horns start that is nearly two miles away.  And I think the people also have some things called  (ginny) guineas  something chickens and they have a quacking croaking type sound.  I can't tell you what I'd like to do with them, but they say then can kill a snake.

I actually bought a "few" peeps at Easter time a few years ago ( they were so small, so I bought like 10 of them:] ) and  ironically they turned into chickens! Imagine that! They got so big and took over the hilltop where I live! No longer the cute peeps they once were they had to be corraled and a farmers market nearby picked them up to take to the farm. OK, while collecting the chickens one of the roosters ran for the woods & escaped the farm. I wasnt going to chace him- told farmer when he comes down to roost, I'll bring him to you. Long story short he came home to roost- I didnt have the heart to take him to the farm, he lived with me for another full year. Following spring he began to "flog" everyone he saw- I went to the farm & asked what happened to my doscile cute rooster who wakes me every dawn? well without hens- rooster was angry ( and I guess annoyed ) not to mate. So eventually he joined the hens @ the farm and I only have my alarm clock now to wake me:[

I agree the sound of a rooster crowing is amazing but they do it alot not just at dawn........
